Repairs
Resin repairs: what can be fixed?
Most things: chips and burns in a resin worktop, cracks in a concrete floor, rotten timber in a sill or frame, a broken concrete step. A peeling floor coating is different: it usually means the preparation failed, and the whole area needs doing again. Repairs are priced per job.
Free, no obligation. One local resin specialist prices it, not five.

|---|---|---|
| A small chip in a resin worktop | Yes, with a repair kit | Fill, cure, sand and polish; colour matching is the hard part |
| A burn or a ring on a resin worktop | Specialist | Sanding back and recoating the area or the whole top |
| Cracks in a concrete floor before a coating | Specialist | Opened up, filled with resin, ground flush |
| A peeling garage or floor coating | Specialist | Ground off and redone, with the preparation done right |
| Rotten timber in a sill or frame | With care | Cut back to sound timber, consolidated, filled with epoxy |
| A broken concrete step or edge | Specialist | Rebuilt in epoxy mortar |
The DIY check

Three taps: the project, the size and how much epoxy you've used. You get an honest verdict, the reasons and what a specialist charges.
Borderline
Possible yourself, with care
- A chip in a worktop, a crack in a floor and a peeling garage coating each need a different product.
- Colour matching an old resin surface is hard: a small repair can show.
- Peeling usually means the original preparation failed, so the whole area may need doing.
- Skin contact is the main risk: epoxy can cause allergic dermatitis. Nitrile gloves, long sleeves, eye protection and fresh air, every time.
Repairs are priced per job, from a photo or a look.
Send this for a real priceHow this is worked out
Anything you walk on, cook on or shower against, at any real size, is a specialist job: the preparation, the cure and the waterproofing decide whether it lasts. Small pieces are what DIY kits are made for. Experience moves a borderline job, never a shower wall or a commercial floor. Prices are our price guide; your written price comes from the specialist.
Peeling
Why a coating peels
Almost always the preparation: a slab that was swept rather than ground, damp coming up, or a coat that went on too thin or too cold. Patching a peeling coating rarely holds, because the rest of it is stuck down just as badly.
Colour
Will the repair show?
Often, a little. Old resin has yellowed and worn, and new resin doesn't match it exactly. A recoat over the whole surface is the way to hide a repair completely.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Can a chipped epoxy worktop be repaired?
Yes. Small chips are filled, cured, sanded and polished. Matching the colour is the hard part.
Can you patch a peeling garage floor?
Rarely for long. Peeling usually means the preparation failed, so the coating is ground off and redone.
How much is a resin repair?
Priced per job, from a photo or a look. Small repairs often cost more per m² than new work, because the set-up is the same.
